Short answer… No, they are not. Floating floors have improved immensely since their introduction several years ago. The are quieter, prettier, and better constructed than they used to be. They are also very resilient and can be a great solution for your home. There are, however, a few things to keep in mind. If your home is on a pier and beam foundation or allows movement in any way, a floating floor may not be the best choice for you. Over time, the locking system can wear out and break, causing the floor to become uneven on its surface.
